ABOUT ME
Hi there, my name is Jaycie and I am a 25 year old nursing student. I have had a passion for healthcare since I was a small child and now I feel super blessed to be in Southern Utah University's nursing program. I work two jobs, am a newlywed, and I am learning to ski! I love traveling, dogs, outdoors, and dancing. I want to be an intensive care nurse after graduation. I had a blast doing my EDGE project and I hope you can feel of my experience as you read this blog!
PERSONAL EDGE STATEMENT
Spring 2015
I
have had the privilege to work in healthcare for ten years where I have
gained numerous skills and experiences that will help me to complete my EDGE
project. My EDGE project will use many
of my work related skills as I volunteer as a medical support staff. My past has taught me the value of hard work,
responsibility, and dependability. These
personality traits will help me work towards the completion of my EDGE project. Through my experiences I have gained the
capability to excel in preforming patient assessments and first aid. My strengths will help promote me to be a
successful and beneficial medical volunteer for the Baker to Vegas race. My life is quite busy as it is presently being
filled with two full time jobs, nursing school, and a family at home. My lifestyle may potentially present
obstacles as I work to complete my EDGE project. I will
need to dedicate many hours towards my EDGE project, therefore I will prepare
by working on my time management skills.
With better time management skills I will not only succeed as a medical volunteer,
but my project won’t interfere with other places in my life.
